Evenings On the Farm

It’s been a while since adding a new article on our website, simply because our family has been in quite a bit of transition over the past many months. As challenging as the journey has been, we’ve realized this was definitely a worthwhile trek.

The Lord has blessed us with a farm that was originally built in the 1940’s. It is badly in need of restoration, but the Lord is going to teach us so many incredible things as we take on this project. So, while this adventure will be long and most definitely a learning process, we really can’t wait to see what’s in store.

And, as excited as we are to fix, fix, fix…..sometimes it’s just nice to stop and cherish a few minutes of what is already here. So, that’s what we did this evening.

While the whole picture, of what I imagine this farm to be in the future, may not be perfect yet, we are blessed when we see the small moments and parts that are already beautiful. And, we celebrate those as respite and refreshment until it’s time to stand up and improve again.

And, I pray that we may allow the Lord to work in our personal lives in much the same way. We see ourselves as what we could be someday…..and that’s not all bad. Self improvement is a life-long, admirable goal. But, instead of only longing for the finished product, may we also take some time to bask in the beauty of who God has already created us to be. Let us celebrate and be content for a minute in who we are through God’s eyes to fill our cup to overflowing that we may be ready for Him to reveal that next big project we get to tackle with Him.

So tonight, we’re taking a summer evening off of projects to play, porch sit, watch the sun go down, and laugh……ON THE FARM!

Thanks for joining us! We’re glad you’re here!
